Good for you: Anstey Residents Group (ARG) has been successfully fighting Coors on its planning applications, but they are a multi-billion dollar organisation and they just keep throwing more money at it. They have no morals as they are out to trash a covenant set up by Courage in 1935 to keep the sports ground for recreational purposes. Only by more people standing up to this company will we be able to stop them.

It is good to see someone else help fight to save Alton Town FC, i myself am joint co-ordinator of the Alton town FC petition and will work with
anyone who is of the same mind, as for the covenant i am Altonian born and bred, i can not speak for the council i am an elected member of,, but i can as an individual and in my considered opinion, the covenant was set up for the people of Alton in 1935 and should remain to be so.
All previous owners of the land have complied with the the spirit of the covenant why not Coors!!!

As a member of the “Shropshire” Branch of the Alton Town Supporters Club (monthly visits made to support club), I wholeheartedly agree with all the efforts that are being made to preserve the club in it’s current format. I am no legal wizard but I always thought that a covenant meant that once in place it’s use cannot be changed. Using land specified for recreational purposes for residential property would not, to my mind, adhere to this interpretation!
