ALTON TOWN COUNCIL TO DISCUSS FUTURE OF THE CLUB ON MARCH 6th

A look at Town Council’s agenda for March 6th reveals item 8 as ‘the future of Alton Town FC’. At the bottom of points listed for discussion under this heading is ‘ developer’s proposal for mixed housing/football development. This comes from the Wokingham based company ROMAN DEVLOPMENT and consists of a speculative proposal they have put to COORS – with no indication of Coors response.Rather more surprisingly the firm seems to have been in talks with the Town Council over the matter. Then the penny drops – by directly talking to a third party dveloper the council can still claim ‘we have had no prposals from Coors’. There’s some clever clogs in that Town Hall now aint there folks?
Not being privy to any of the ongoing discussions between the Club, Alton United,the town council and Coors we do not wish to comment further till after the council meeting….but rest assured we shall be watching closely.
